Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.24.2014

Ray Fisher is set to play one of DC's iconic superheroes in Batman vs. Superman. Variety reports that the actor, best known for his theatrical work, will portray the role of Cyborg in the film. The site says that the role is "not a major part" of the movie but will be larger when it gets to later films within the Justice League universe.

Cyborg is the alias of Victor Stone, who in the New 52 universe (DC's current continuity) is a a high school football star who has a distant relationship with his father at S.T.A.R. Labs. An accident causes his father to turn him into a cybernetic individual in order to save him, after which he becomes instrumental in helping fight off Darkseid. Darkseid is the rumored villain for the Justice League film that is sure to follow Batman vs. Superman.

Fisher joins Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot and Amy Adams in the cast, with a May 6th, 2016 release date.
