New Photos From Godzilla, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Jimi: All Is By My Side Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.28.2014
Three big movies...
USA Today has provided a new photo for several big movies coming this summer, including Godzilla, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Jimi: All Is By My Side.
When asked about Godzilla, who stomps into theaters on May 16, director Gareth Edwards said: "He's an ancient warrior who's the last of his kind, and his kind has long since died out. He lives a very solitary lonely existence and he's very happy to keep away from everyone, but we keep doing things to force him to return and put things right."
The kaiju film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.
Here's a synopsis: The world's most famous monster is pitted against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Dane DeHaan plays Spidey's legendary nemesis, the Green Goblin. When asked about playing the character, DeHaan said: ""There's not many movies where you start off as a seemingly normal guy and by the end you're a full-blown monster. You get to fall in love with Harry before he becomes the villain and then you get to watch his demise."
The film also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Colm Feore, Felicty Jones, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Embeth Davidtz, Campbell Scott, Marton Csokas, Chris Cooper, BJ Novak and Sarah Gadon. It was directed by Marc Webb and will be released on May 2.
Here's a synopsis: We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
In Jimi: All Is On My Side, Andre "3000" Benjamin plays the iconic musician. Writer-director John Ridley said of his performance: "We did not want to do a Vegas lounge-act impersonation of Jimi Hendrix. He understood the beauty in being observant, and (Benjamin) actually does that — be thoughtful, be introspective, and then be an extrovert the moment he has a guitar in his hand."
The film also stars Hayley Atwell, Imogen Poots, Burn Gorman, Ashley Charles, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Amy De Bhrun and Laurence Kinlan. It will be released on June 13.
Here's a synopsis: There's rock music. Then there's Jimi Hendrix. "All Is By My Side" captures the energy, the charisma, the mind-boggling talent of a legend whose musical influence still resonates around the world today. Based on actual interviews and archival materials, "All Is By My Side" brings authenticity and poignantly reveals a Jimi Hendrix behind the legend. At its heart a love story, "All Is By My Side" is about a man growing up, falling in love and becoming Jimi.
