Game of Thrones Scores New Ratings High
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.28.2014

It's good to be on the Iron Throne. TV Line reports that last night's Game of Thrones episode "Oathkeeper" hit a new series high in viewership, with 6.9 million total viewers for the debut showing of the episode.

The show totaled 8.4 million viewers including all replay airings. The previous high was 6.6 million, which was hit for the series premiere and equalled in last week's episode. You can read our review of the episode here.

Meanwhile, Silicon Valley scored 1.62 million viewers and Veep had 922,000 viewers. Those numbers are down just slightly from 1.69 million and up from 770,000 viewers, respectively.

Premiering last night was Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, which did quite well with 1.1 million viewers. That number is a 51% leap from the same time period for HBO last week and about what Real Time With Bill Maher does on Friday (1.4 million). It wasn't even far off from The Daily Show's 1.5 million average. When you include replays the show averaged 1.4 million viewers.
