Fox Cancels J.J. Abrams' Almost Human
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 04.29.2014

While J.J. Abrams had a big reveal today for fans in the casting for Star Wars: Episode VII, there's one last bit of news for sci-fi watchers that won't go over so well. Variety has confirmed with sources close to the show that Fox has pulled the plug on Almost Human.

The freshman series, which stars Karl Urban and Michael Ealy as a cop and a his android partner in 2048, premiered to good ratings but they steadily dwindled, down to a 1.5 rating in the 18 - 49 demographic for the season (now series) finale. Fox refused to comment on the story.

Abrams was a producer on the show, with J.H. Wyman (Fringe) having created it. Abrams has several other series that he is involved with still on the air for now, including NBC's Revolution and Believe (also shows that are on the bubble) and CBS' Person of Interest.
