Arrow Writer Says He Hopes Green Lantern Appears in Justice League Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.02.2014
Welcome to the club...
So as you know, Warner Bros. has confirmed that Justice League is officially set to follow Batman vs. Superman with Zack Snyder directing. The film is likely to include those two DC heroes along with Wonder Woman and Cyborg, both of whom are in the Man of Steel sequel. But there are a few names that have yet to be mentioned. One of them is Green Lantern, who was the subject of a much-derided film of his own starring Ryan Reynolds. The co-writer of that film, Marc Guggenheim, says he hopes that Lantern will show up in the team-up film.
Before you start trashing Guggenheim too hard for Green Lantern, it's worth mentioning that he's also showrunner on Arrow. He was speaking with IGN when he was asked about the idea of Green Lantern being a part of it and, like any DC fan might answer, said he'd be all for it.
"I would love it," Guggenheim said. "At the end of the day, I just want to see a great Justice League movie. I think they're putting a lot of really cool pieces into play with the first two Superman movies and I'm basically a sucker for a great comic book movie. As long as they're doing something awesome, I'll be the first one in line."
Justice League has no release date yet but reports suggest it could hit as soon as 2017.
