Series could be aired Showtime…
Variety reports that the upcoming Steven Spielberg-produced Halo series may air on Showtime. The network is reportedly close to making a deal to broadcast the adaptation of the video game franchise.
The show is being produced by Xbox Entertainment Studios with 343 Industries and Amblin Television. The Halo TV series is being developed alongside a "digital feature" based on the game series as well, produced by Ridley Scott. The digital feature is being directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan and written by Paul Scheuring (Prison Break).
The deal has taken some time to work out because a show of this type is uncharted territory, since it's meant to air on both Showtime and Xbox. The show is also said to feature enhanced interactivity for the Xbox platform as well. Per the report, episodes would be shown on Showtime first, followed by Xbox.
