Marc Webb Says He Wants Kraven For The Amazing Spider-Man 3
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.06.2014

With The Amazing Spider-Man 2 now in theaters, people are already looking ahead to the next film and the Sinister Six spin-off. Some spoilery rumors have popped up about what villains may be in both films and now Marc Webb has weighed in on who he would like to see in The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Webb named one of Spidey's oldest adversaries when asked who he would like to take on in the next entry. "Kraven," he said. "I like the idea of Kraven. The Vulture. Ock. I always though the idea of Mysterio was interesting. Maybe Scorpion. But really, Kraven I think is kind of interesting."

Kraven is one of Spider-Man's long-time foes, having first popped up back in 1964 in the fifteenth issue of The Amazing Spider-Man. Real name Sergei Kravinoff, he is the son of a Russian aristocrat and a crazed big game hunter who believes that if he can take down Spider-Man he will be recognized as the greatest hunter in the world. He died in the 1987 storyline "Kraven's Last Hunt" where he hunts down Spider-Man and seems to shoot him, then buries him alive and wears the Spider costume so he can prove himself superior to the webslinger but is eventually defeated and commits suicide.

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will again be directed by Marc Webb and releases on June 10th, 2016.
