Movie Character to Appear in Star Wars Rebels?
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.09.2014

Star Wars Rebels is barreling along toward its fall premiere date on Disney Channel (and then Disney XD) and rumors are popping up about characters from the Saga showing up in it. Specifically, Lando Calrissian may appear in the show, voiced by Billy Dee Williams himself. Collider reports that they asked co-creator Simon Kinberg about what it was like writing dialogue for Lando and Kinberg didn't deny the statement, saying, "Writing dialogue for any of the legacy characters is as big a thrill as anything I've ever had in my life."

The reason Collider asked that has to do with Williams himself. Williams was part of a panel (via BC) at Rhode Island Comic-Con and said that he was about to do something with Netflix. His manager then stepped in and said it was actually Rebels, prompting Williams to say "Uh, Rebels but I cant' talk about it." No further questions on the subject were answered.

Finally, Star Wars Insider magazine posted something to Facebook (now deleted) which alluded to Lando being in the series. The post stated:

CG form or in the flesh, we're on cloud 9 (well, level 1-50 of Cloud City, which we hear is even better) having Lando back on our screens.

The series premieres on Disney Channel this fall and then moves to Disney XD after its initial premiere.
