Godzilla Cast & Crew Respond to Claims That The Monster's Too Fat
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.10.2014

As you may recall, last weekend it was reported that some Japanese fans were making fun of the new Godzilla film, accusing the monster of being too fat after a still of him was released. Star Ken Watanabe, director Gareth Edwards and Legendary's Thomas Tull were asked about the comments by IGN and had some pithy responses. Check them out below:

Edwards: "I think two people Japan said that. But let's pretend it's the whole world for a moment. I just think it's comments like that that give giant monsters an image complex. That's what makes him angry in the first place."

Tull: "We think our Godzilla is just right and we're not asking him to go on a diet, even for the red carpet."

Watanabe: "He's getting some good exercise."

The film opens on Friday.
