Wedge Antilles Not Returning For Star Wars: Episode VII
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.12.2014

There will be no Red Two in Star Wars: Episode VII. Denis Lawson, who played Rebel pilot Wedge Antilles in the Original Trilogy films, has told The Courier in the UK that he was asked to come back but declined the opportunity.

When asked about the possible appearance Lawson said, "I'm not going to do that…They asked me but it just would have bored me." Lawson--who, funny story, is the uncle of young Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor)--has always taken the stance that he would only return for a more significant role than he had in the previous films. Apparently that wasn't offered to him and thus, no Wedge.

The film will be released on December 18th, 2015.
