Halle Berry To Star In Kidnap

Coming Soon reports that Halle Berry (Monster's Ball, X-Men: Days of Future Past) will star in Lotus Entertainemnt and director Luis Prieto's thriller Kidnap. The film was written by Knate Gwaltney. Di Bonaventura Pictures' Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, Saltand Erik Howsam will produce. Lotus Entertainment is handling international sales starting with Cannes at the Marché.

The film follows a mother (Berry) trying to rescue her kidnapped son. Joey Tufaro, Colin Bates, Claudia Blumhuber, Florian Dargel (Silver Reel) and Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel of Lotus will executive produce, along with Berry and her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas through 606 Films.

Lotus Entertainment's Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel said: "Lorenzo is a renowned producer in the blockbuster action world, and we're very excited to be working on such an exciting high concept project with him. We look forward to seeing him join forces with the incredible talent of Halle Berry and Luis Prieto on a project that is sure to appeal to audiences worldwide.

This is the second collaboration between Lotus, di Bonaventura and Silver Reel after the remake of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, which is in development.
