Aquaman Animated Film to Be Based on New 52 Version?
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 05.17.2014

It appears that the Aquaman DC Animated Universe film will be following the route of Justice League: War it tackling the New 52 take on the character. Newsarama reports that the film will take the origin story of the character in the 2011 reboot of DC's continuity as a basis for its story.

The site notes that "at the start of the film he won't know much, if anything, about his connection to Atlantis, his place in their royal family, and his destiny to be their king."

Sam Witwer is voicing Aquaman, who was seen at the end of Justice League: War showing carrying the body of a dead king and declaring it an act of war. Aquaman is expected to release in 2015.
