The King of Hell moves up...
Spoilers regarding the season finale follow. You've been warned!
Variety reports that Mark Sheppard has been promoted to a series regular for Supernatural season ten. Sheppard plays Crowley, the King of Hell, who has had a bigger role in the series in recent years.
The character was introduced in season five and is one of many roles Sheppard has played on TV, including Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, Firefly, White Collar, The X-Files and 24.
This news comes after a reports that Misha Collins, who plays the angel Castiel, was also named a series regular. Collins has had a recurring role in seasons four (when he was introduced) and eight. He was a regular for seasons five, six and nine. The series received an early renewal this year. A spin-off was planned but didn't go to series. However, the CW is considering a different spin-off for this season.
The ninth season ended with a bang as Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) was killed by Metatron (Curtis Armstrong), only to be resurrected by the Mark of Cain and Crowley as a demon. With Crowley and Dean growing closer over the season, it seems like that they'll be paired together in season ten.
