Some more changes at Marvel...
Latino Review reports that Drew Goddard has left Marvel's Daredevil TV series. Goddard was set to write and direct the first episode while working as a series showrunner and executive producer.
Deadline then reported (which was confirmed by Marvel) that Steven S. DeKnight would replace him as the showrunner.
Goddard was removed from directing in late March when Marvel sent him to write and direct Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man spin-off The Sinister Six. Goddard wrote the first two episodes and will still executive produce, but a director is still being sought.
DeKnight and Goddard have something in common, and that's Joss Whedon. DeKnight was a writer for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a producer for both Dollhouse and Angel. Goddard was a writer on Buffy and Angel and co-wrote Cabin in the Woods with Whedon, which Goddard directed. DeKnight's other credits include Smallville and Spartacus.
Daredevil is one of four Netflix shows for Marvel, including Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The four characters will then join forces for The Defenders miniseries. Daredevil will premiere on Netflix next year with thirteen episodes.
