Alice was eighty-eight...
Ann B. Davis has passed away at the age of eighty-eight. CNN reports that Davis, who was everyone's favorite housekeeper as Alice on The Brady Bunch, died after slipping in her bathroom on Sunday morning and hitting her head. She suffered a subdural hematoma and never regained consciousness.
Davis won two Emmy Awards for her role in The Bob Cummings Show, which ran from 1955 to 1959, before she took on her most famous role. She appeared for the whole of The Brady Bunch's run from 1969 through 1974 and reprised the role in the various spin-offs including The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, The Brady Brides and The Bradys. She also had a cameo in 1995's The Brady Bunch Movie and played Alice in Naked Gun 33?: The Final Insult credited as "herself."
Among her other roles were TV's The John Forsythe Show and Love, American Style. Her last TV acting role was a guest appearance on Something So Right in 1997.
On behalf of 411, our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Ms. Davis.
