Thanos' Guardians of the Galaxy Role Revealed (SPOILERS)
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.03.2014

Thanos has been looming over the Marvel Cinematic Universe since he appeared in the mid-credits teaser of The Avengers. The mad titan is said to be featuring into the MCU in a major way going forward and Josh Brolin was revealed as being cast in the role last week. Now Vulture has the details of how much Thanos will be in Guardians of the Galaxy, and it sounds like he'll be pulling a Darth Sidious a la Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.

According to the site, Thanos will appear in the film's first act as a hologram and will stay that way for much of the film, while being referenced by other characters throughout. He will appear once "in the flesh," so to speak, when he shares a scene with Lee Pace's Ronan the Accuser and Karen Gillan's Nebula. The character has been rumored to be taking on a bigger role (perhaps the main villain) in The Avengers 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy is written and directed by James Gunn and also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Gregg Henry, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Vin Diesel. It releases on August 1st.
