Michael Douglas Says He's Disappointed Edgar Wright Isn't Directing Ant-Man Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.06.2014
Plus more directors up for the job...
Michael Douglas has commented on Edgar Wright departing Marvel's Ant-Man. Douglas, who is playing Hank Pym in the upcoming film, spoke with Schmoes Know and called it a "disappointing situation."
Douglas said of the development, "I was very disappointed. I am a big fan of (Edgar's) movies. It's a very disappointing situation. Happened very late in the game. I don't think anybody's quite recovered. My heart goes out to Edgar – he's been involved with the project for a long time. But he's talented enough that you'll be hearing a whole lot from him and I'm sure with a little vengeance."
You can see his interview below. In addition, The Wrap and THR report that new directors are up for the job including Peyton Reed (Yes Man, Bring It On) and Daivd Wain (Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer). Wain has worked with lead star Paul Rudd on several films before, while Reed is already set to direct a comic book film in The Fifth Beatle.
Ant-Man also stars Evangeline Lilly, Patrick Wilson and Corey Stoll. It is set for release on July 17th, 2015.
