Brandon Routh and Dane Cook To Star In Sci-Fi Thriller 400 Days Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.09.2014
400 days in deep space travel...
Deadline reports that production has started on a new sci-fi thriller called 400 Days. The film will star Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Caity Lotz (Arrow) , Ben Feldman (Mad Men), Tom Cavanagh (Ed), Grant Bowler and Dane Cook (Planes: Fire and Rescue). It will be financed by New Artists Alliance and XLrator Media. Matt Osterman (Ghost From The Machine) will write and direct.
The film follows four astronauts who are on a simulated mission to a far away planet to test the psychological effects of deep space travel. Their mental state begins to fall apart as the trip lasts for 400 days and they lose all communication with the outside world. They leave the ship and discover that it may not have been a simulation.
NAA's Gabriel Cowan said: "Matt has penned a mind-bending screenplay that reminds us why we make movies to begin with. Its complete sense of awe, mystery, and character grabbed us right away. And the crazy reality is that NASA and the European Space Agency are conducting these types of psychological experiments in preparation for the manned mission to Mars right now."
Cook is also an executive producer on the film with Mandy Wolf, Andrew Orci, Curtis Raines and Bob Griffin. Cowan and John Suits will produce with Barry Gordon and Michael Radiloff for XLrator Media.
