Downton Abbey Actress Linked to Bond 24
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 06.09.2014

Joanne Froggatt is reportedly in line for Bond 24. MI6 reports that the actress, who is known for her role as Anna on Downton Abbey, is a leading contender for the lead female role in the upcoming, as-yet-unnamed film. This will be in a larger role compared to the previously-reported smaller role of a Scandinavian female character.

The site notes that Sam Mendes and company are looking for a "gritty woman who will be a match for 007." The film starts shooting in October with Daniel Craig returning and Mendes directing from John Logan's script. Also returning in front of the camera are Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw.

James Bond 24 releases on November 6th, 2015.
