Image Comics' Rat Queens and Peter Panzerfaust Get TV Show Deals
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 06.14.2014

Variety reports that the Image Comics series Rat Queens and Peter Panzerfaust, both created by Kurtis J. Wiebe, are being developed as TV shows.

Weta Workshop's Pukeko Pictures and Heavy Metal are developing Rat Queens as a half hour animated series. BBC Worldwide and Heavy Metal are developing Peter Panzerfaust, and Life on Mars creators Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharaoh are writing the pilot script.

Below is an official description of Rat Queens:

"Who are the Rat Queens? A pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, and they're in the business of killing all god's creatures for profit. It's also a darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series starring Hannah the Rockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist Human Cleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief."

And below is an official description for Peter Panzerfaus:

Peter Panzerfaust was also created by Wiebe with artist Tyler Jenkins. The series launched in February of 2012 and is a retelling of J.M. Barrie's "Peter Pan" set in the backdrop of Nazi-occupied France during World War II instead of the fantastical Neverland. Check back here for more info on these projects as we learn them.
