Release Dates Set For Steven Spielberg's Next Two Movies
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.16.2014

Coming Soon reports that Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has set release dates for Steven Spielberg's next two films, which come from Dreamworks.

The "Untitled Cold War Spy Thriller" will be out on October 16, 2015. It's only competition at the moment is Guillermo del Toro's horror film Crimson Peak. It stars Tom Hanks and was written by the Coen brothers, based on a script by Matt Charman. Spielberg, Marc Platt and Kristie Macosko Krieger will produce with Adam Somner and Daniel Lupi executive producing.

Here's a synopsis: The movie is the true story of James Donovan, an attorney who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible mission to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot.

Spielberg's adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel The BFG will be out on July 1, 2016. It is up against Angry Birds, Independence Day 2 and Tarzan. The film was written by Melissa Mathison. Spielberg and Frank Marshall will produce with Kathleen Kennedy, John Madden and Michael Siegel executive producing.

Here's a synopsis: In the film, a young girl, the Queen of England and a benevolent giant known as the BFG, set out on an adventure to capture the evil, man-eating giants who have been invading the human world.
