Is A New Solo Batman Movie Coming In 2019?
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.19.2014

Latino Review reports that the latest rumor suggests that Ben Affleck will be back as the Caped Crusader in a solo Batman film in 2019. Warner announced last August that Affleck will play Batman in several movies, including Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. The 2019 solo outing is expected to be called The Batman.

Batman V Superman will end production around December. After a break for the holidays, production for Justice League will likely begin in winter of 2015. In the summer of 2015, Affleck will write, direct and star in a period gangster movie called Live By Night (which arrives in October 2016). This would allow Warner Bros time to write a script for a production start in either 2017 or 2018.

The website suggests that its possible that Affleck could direct the film given his track record with the studio (Argo was a Warner Bros film and won Best Picture at the Academy Awards). His contract could have a clause or seperate rider for directing.
