Buzzfeed.com reports that an unauthorized dramatization based on the making of the hit TV series Saved by the Bell is in the works for Lifetime. The film reportedly promises "to change the way that fans look at the classic kids' comedy."
The film is said to be based on "house of brand-new interviews conducted for this film." The dramatization was cast by Robin Lippin, the casting director from the original series, which ran from 1989 to 1993.
The cast for the show features: Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Sam Kindseth (Shameless) as Dustin Diamond, Julian Works (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) as Mario Lopez, Tiera Skovbye (Supernatural) as Elizabeth Berkley and Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen.
Dustin Diamond's scandalous memoir, Behind the Bell, apparently created interest in Hollywood for the behind-the-scenes story of the series. In the book, Diamond claimed that the entire cast "was sleeping together (including threesomes), and many were dabbling in drug.s"
