Rosario Dawson Joins The Cast Of Marvel's Daredevil Series
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.20.2014

Marvel and Netflix have announced that Rosario Dawson (Cesar Chavez, Kids, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For) has joined the cast of Marvel's 13-episode Daredevil series, which premieres on Netflix in 2015. She plays a "dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell's Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city."

She joins Charlie Cox, who will play Matt Murdock/Daredevil, along with Vincent D'Onofrio, who will play Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin.

Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb said: "Rosario Dawson is one the most charismatic, talented and powerful actresses in Hollywood, so she was always at the top of our list for 'Marvel's Daredevil'. Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock's journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil."

Here's a synopsis: "Marvel's Daredevil" follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City.

The series is executive produced by Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel) and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods, Lost, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), who wrote the first two episodes. Loeb (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Smallville and Heroes) will also executive produce. It will be produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
