Deadline reports that Breck Eisner has exited the upcoming sequel The Karate Kid 2 from Sony Pictures due to schedule conflicts. Sony has also tapped two new screenwriters, Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer, to rewrite the script.
Zak Penn, Ethan Reiff, and Cyrus Voris previously wrote drafts of the sequel. The 2011 remake grossed $359 million worldwide. Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith are attached to reprise their roles from the 2011 movie.
As for Eisner, he's also attached for The Last Witch Hunter for Lionsgate.
