20th Century Fox Looking To Remake The Omen Again
Posted by Joseph Lee on 06.28.2014

Bloody Disgusting reports that while Lifetime is developing a TV follow-up to 1976's The Omen (Damien with The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara), 20th Century Fox is working with Platinum Dunes to remake it.

This would be the second remake after 2006. John Moore directed a cast including Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles and Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick. It was released on June 6 (06-06-06) and earned $120 million worldwide on a $25 million budget. Richard Donner directed the original 1976 film, which starred Gregory Peck, Lee Remick and Harvey Stephens as Damien.

The film follows an American ambassador who begins to wonder if his son is the Anti-Christ after several people die around him. Platinum Dunes will release The Purge: Anarchy this year. They're also behind the remakes of Friday the 13th, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
