It's a precautionary measure...
Robin Williams has checked into a rehab facility to safeguard himself against falling back into active addiction. TMZ reports that the comedian has checked into Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center near Lindstrom, Minnesota, where he is staying at a part of the facility that helps people maintain long-term sobriety. He is expected to stay for several weeks.
Williams has long had addiction issues and was clean from the early 1980s all the way through to the mid-2000s. He went to rehab in 2006. His rep told the site, "After working back-to-back projects, Robin is simply taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud."
