Richard Pryor's Kids Don't Want Nick Cannon to Play Him in Biopic
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 07.03.2014

As reported yesterday, Nick Cannon strongly hinted that he was playing Richard Pryor in an upcoming biopic to be directed by Lee Daniels. However, Pryor's children are opposed to that idea. TMZ spoke with Richard Pryor Jr. and Rain Pryor, who said that they don't believe that Cannon has the acting skills needed to play their father in the upcoming film.

More to the point, the two have an issue with the film overall. They told the site that the film has become a vanity project for their stepmother Jennifer Pryor, who is producing the film. They believe that she will skew the story in order to make her look good and are angry that they've been cut out of the project.

They have said they would rather see Marlon Wayans play the role, saying that Wayans understands their father's psyche and can connect with the character in a compelling way.
