Richard Pryor’s Widow Wants Terrence Howard in the Role
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 07.05.2014

TMZ reports that Richard Pryor's widow, Jennifer Pryor, says that actor Nick Cannon has not yet been cast to play late comedian Richard Pryor. In addition, she thinks Terrence Howard should get the role.

According to the report, Jennifer Pryor has some say over the decision of who will play Pryor, and she said Cannon jumped the gun by hinting that he had the part. Director Lee Daniels is apparently still holding auditions for the role.

Pryor reportedly thinks Howard is right for the role, but she would insist on him losing weight. Other names being looked at for the role are Marlon Wayans, Jay Pharoah, and Mike Epps. Pryor's children are said to be lobbying for Wayans and have never seen eye-to-eye with Jennifer, who was married to Pryor twice.

The Pryor children are concerned of their stepmother turning the film into a vanity project. Jennifer Pryor said in response that she loved Pryor immensely, but if the children cannot see that, then "tough."
