Brandon Routh To Play The Atom On CW's Arrow
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.07.2014

TV Line reports that Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) is return to the world of DC superheroes as he will play Ray Palmer (The Atom) in a recurring role for season three of Arrow.

Palmer is a scientist and inventor that will "play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver and Felicity as the new owner of Queen Consolidated". His plans for the Applied Sciences Division will be "shrouded in mystery".

In the comics, The Atom can alter the size of his body and control his body on the molecular level. He can shrink down to the subatomic level and can mimic flight by reducing his mass and gliding through the air. He's previously appeared in Cartoon Network's Young Justice, but this will be his live-action debut.

He joins previously announced cast members Devon Aoki (Katana), Karl Yune (Oliver's Hong Kong handler and Katana's husband Maseo Yamashiro) and Peter Storemare (Count Vertigo). Season three debuts on October 8.
