With Harry as an adult...
IGN reports that J.K. Rowling has written a new Harry Potter short story that provides some details on what happened to Harry, Ron and Hermione after the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In order to read the story, you have to have an account at Pottermore. It is written in the style of a Daily Prophet article by Rita Skeeter.
The article focuses on the three meeting up at the Qudditch World Cup. Harry is 34 and has "threads of silver" in his hair, along with a new scar on his right cheekbone. His children James and Albus are with him but his wife Ginny isn't, which causes Rita to imply they're having problems.
The story seems to also take some shorts that the UK's tabloids. She's been critical of British tabloids and appeared at the Levenson inquiry into press standards. So the Ginny statement is more than likely a shot at the tabloids and not part of the actual story. Rita Skeeter's always been a parody of tabloid reporting.
Viktor Krum appears later and Harry gives him a hug. Hermione and Ron are happily married. Ron, however, is no longer an Auror like Harry. Instead, he's now a co-manager of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. Hermione is head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and there are people saying that her rise shows no signs of slowing down. Neville Longbottom is the professor of Herbology at Hogwarts and is married to Hannah. Luna Lovegood is married to Newt Scamander's grandson Rolf and has twin boys. Bill Weasley is still married to Fleur even with the problems of being a werewolf. Teddy Lupin, Harry's 16-year-old godson, is in a relationship with Bill and Fleur's daughter Victoire.
Rowling has said that she didn't plan on visiting Harry's life as an adult but this seems to suggest she changed her mind. As far as movies go, you can return to that world when Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is released.
