Ridley Scott To Produce Biblical Movie David
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.08.2014

Variety reports that Ridley Scott, 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment are set to produce a film based on the Old Testament character and King of Israel David. The film, with a working title of David, will be written by Jonathan Stokes and is based on the "David and Goliath" story, but would likely focus on his life after that battle. Scott will produce through Scott Free.

It's unknown at this time if Scott is considering directing the project. He currently has several projects lined up now that Exodus: Gods and Kings has wrapped, including The Martian (starring Matt Damon) and Prometheus 2. It would be a large-scale film like Noah and Exodus. Fox would likely wait to shoot until Scott is available, but no director is set.
