Three More Cast In Sony Playstation Series Powers
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.17.2014

Deadline reports that Susan Heyward (The Following), Max Fowler (The Killing) and Adam Godley (Breaking Bad, Suits) have joined the cast of Powers, a series that will debut on the Sony Playstation Network. It's based on the graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. The firs two episodes will be directed by David Slade from scripts by Charlie Huston. Sony Pictures TV will produce

Here's a synopsis: Combining the genres of superhero fantasy, crime noir and police procedural, Powers is set in a world full of people with superhuman abilities and where all of those powers are just another catalyst for mayhem and murder. It follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim (Heyward), who are assigned to protect humans like us and investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, referred to as Powers who glide through the sky on lightning bolts and fire and who clash above cities in epic battle, oblivious to the mortals below. Pilgrim is described as equal parts beauty and sarcasm, a wunderkind detective with edgy style.

Fowler will play Krispin Stockley, the son of Walker's murdered partner and a teen stil lcoping with the death of his father which "starts him on a dark journey that will warp him both physically and emotionally." Godley plays Captain Cross, the captain of the Powers division. He's "bookish, respectful and loyal" but could have a secret that could lead his department into a conspiracy. In the previous version of the series, as a pilot on FX, Pilgrin was played by Lucy Punch while Cross was played by Charles S. Dutton.

Executive producers include Bendis, Oeming and Michael Dinner with Huston and Remi Aubuchon (Falling Skies) and Circle of Confusion's David Engel, David Alpert and Lawrence Mattis. Huston and Aubuchon will be the showrunners.
