Fargo Renewed For Second Season With All New Cast
Posted by Joseph Lee on 07.21.2014

TV Line reports that FX has renewed Fargo for a ten-episode second season. The new season will debut in fall 2015 at the earliest with all-new characters, a new cast, a new period of time and a new true crime story.

FX CEO John Landgraf said: "We could not be more proud of Fargo. [Season 1] was nothing short of breathtaking and we look forward to the next installment."

The first season received eighteen Emmy nominations and was inspired by the 1996 Coen Brothers film of the same name. It follows the investigation of murders in the Bemidji, Minnesota.

Allison Tolman said earlier this month that "there's discussion" that season two would have a new cast, but she hoped that her character would return. She got a nomination for Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for the role, and said "saying goodbye to that" would be hard. Fargo was also nominated for Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie (Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton), Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie (Colin Hanks) and three for Outstanding Directing in a Miniseries or Movie.
