Alice in Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass Begins Filming

Coming Soon reports that filming will start this week for Disney's Alice in Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass. James Bobin (The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted) will direct. The film has a new story that goes back to Underland and back in time.

The film will be produced by Joe Roth (Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland), Jennifer Todd (Alice In Wonderland, Memento), Suzanne Todd (Alice In Wonderland, Memento) and Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, Frankenweenie). Executive producers include John G. Scotti (Muppets Most Wanted, The Muppets). Linda Woolverton (Maleficent, Alice In Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast) write the script. It will film on location at Shepperton Studios in England. It will be released on May 27, 2016.

The film will star Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Hatter Tarrant Hightopp, Anne Hathaway as Mirana the White Queen, Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsleigh, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen (Iracebeth), Rhys Ifans as Zanik Hightopp (the Mad Hatter's father), Matt Lucas as both Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Ed Speleers as James Harcourt, Sacha Baron Cohen as Time. It also feature a vocal cast that includes Stephen Fry as Cheshire Cat, Toby Jones as Wilkins, Alan Rickman as the Blue Caterpillar, Michael Sheen as the White Rabbit, Timothy Spall as Bayard, Paul Whitehouse as the March Hare, and Barbara Windsor as Dormouse.
