Leprechaun: Origins Getting Small Theatrical Release
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 08.04.2014

Hornswoggle's monstrous take on the Leprechaun franchise will see the actual big screen after all. Variety reports that Lionsgate and WWE Studios have decided to give the film a limited theatrical release on August 22nd ahead of its August 26th DVD/Blu-Ray and VOD release.

The release was decided on after the San Diego Comic Con screening of the film was well-received; it is intended to serve as a "marketing tool" to help promote the film's home release profits. The film stars Hornswoggle, Andrew Dunbar, Melissa Roxburgh and Brendan Fletcher and focuses on two unsuspecting young couples who discover a town's chilling secret while backpacking through the Irish countryside.
