Sharknado Week Gets 18.2 Million Viewers, Sharknado 3 Coming Next July

Coming Soon reports that Syfy has announced that their "Sharknado Week" (July 28 to August 3) was up 80% in the adults 18-49 demographic, 74% in the adults 25-54 demographic and 73% in total views compared to the rest of the summer so far (May 26-July 27). It was led by the premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One.

The eight Sharknado franchise airings, including Sharknado and Sharknado 2 hit 18.2 million viewers. The entire week of shark-related programs hit 25.8 million. After The Second One hit 3.9 million viewers on July 30 at 9 PM (ET/PT), repeated brought in 1.8 million on July 30 at 11 PM, 2.3 million on August 2 at 7 PM and 1.5 million on August 3 at 9 PM.

Roger Corman's Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda (which features a cameo by Conan O'Brien), debuted on August 2 at 9 PM for 2 million viewers, 760,000 in the Adults 18-49 demographic and 831,000 in the Adults 25-54 demographic.

Syfy was ranked #3 in primetime cable entertainment in the Adults 18-49 (665,000), #4 among Adults 25-54 (739,000) and #5 among total viewers (1.7 million).

Sharknado 2 will have an encore on August 13 at 9 PM. Sharknado will debut at 7 PM. Sharknado 3 has been announced for July 2015.
