Four Join The Cast Of Syfy's 12 Monkeys
Posted by Joseph Lee on 08.06.2014

TV Line reports that four have been cast in Syfy's upcoming 12 Monkeys reboot. It's based on the 1995 film of the same name and stars Aaron Stanford (Nikita) as a man who is sent from the future to stop a plague and Amanda Schull (Suits) as the present-day scientist who tries to help him.

Lyriq Bent (Rookie Blue, Saw IV) will play Dr. Henri, a "brilliant and cutting edge" virologist. Todd Stashwick (The Originals, The Riches) is Deacon, the leader of a group of scavengers in 2043 called the West 7. Deacon gained his followers with a viewpoint of "survival of the fittest" and burning down the government quarantine zones.

Demore Barnes (Hemlock Grove, The Unit) will play Whitley, one of the last American soldiers in 2043. He is trying to protect the Temporal Facility that is home to Project Splinter. Romina D'Ugo (Showcase's King, Nikita) plays Max, a survivor who grew up after the apocalypse and never knew about the time of the plague.

Previously announced cast members include Kirk Acevedo (Fringe), Noah Bean (Nikita), Tom Noonan (Damages) and Emily Hampshire (Rookie Blue) as mental patient Jennifer Goines (a role similar to Brad Pitt's in the 1995 movie). Production started this week. The series will debut in January.
