AMC would be okay with it...
Comicbook.com reports that while answering fan questions in The Walking Dead issue #130, creator Robert Kirkman said that Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, could be gay. Daryl has become friends with Carol and Beth but hasn't had any romantic involvement with either of them. In the comics, there is a tough character named Jesus who also happens to be gay. A fan mentioned the parallel to Daryl.
Kirkman said: "All I can say is that it's been discussed. We have very specific ideas about Daryl's sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there's ever a quiet period in the show where he's not consistently distracted by crossbowing… we'll tackle it in the show."
When asked if AMC would allow that, he replied: "For the record, they absolutely would."
The new season debuts on October 12 at 9 PM ET on AMC.
