Keanu Reeves to Star in New Action TV Series
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 08.18.2014

Keanu Reeves is the latest big-name star who is making the leap to the small screen. Deadline reports that the actor will star in and executive produce a new action series titled Rain, which is based on the best-selling book series by Barry Eisler. The series will be produced by Slingshot Global Media and star Reeves as a half-Japanese assassin whose job makes it difficult for him to form relationships.

No network is yet attached to the series. The actor has done some guest work on television, mostly before he broke out as a movie star, but this would be his first starring role (unless you count his voice role in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures). Reeves' career would seem to be at a prime point to reinvent himself with some television work; he's coming off the big-screen bomb 47 Ronin and hasn't had a hit since 2008's The Day the Earth Stood Still, which was in itself somewhat of a disappointment compared to its hype.
