The Greatest American Hero Coming Back to TV
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 08.29.2014

The greatest television theme song of all-time may just be heading back to the small-screen. Deadline reports that FOX has ordered a pilot for a reboot of The Greatest American Hero, the early 1980s superhero show that ran for three seasons on ABC. Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie) are guiding the project along with Tawnia McKiernan, whose father Steven J. Cannell created the opriginal show.

The series ran from 1980 through 1983 and focused on a teacher who becomes a reluctant superhero after extraterrestrials give him a special suit with powers he can barely understand or control when he loses its instruction manual. William Katt played the lead role with Robert Culp and Connie Sellecca co-starring.

And if you want to know what I mean by "greatest television theme song of all-time," you can listen to it below. It really is.
