Liam Neeson Says He'd Play Ra's al Ghul on Arrow
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 08.29.2014

As you likely know by now if you're a fan of Arrow, Ra's al Ghul is coming to season three. The news was revealed at Comic-Con and while there is no cast announcement made yet, everyone has their idea on who should play him. Well, hold onto your horses, because if they ask, producers can apparently get Liam Neeson. Neeson played Ra's in Batman Begins and was asked by MTV News if he would be willing to reprise the role if asked.

"No, I haven't [been asked], I haven't at all," Neeson said, before adding, "I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah. Very much so."

When asked if he had advice for whoever does play the role, he said, "They have to believe in their philosophy. Ra's al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it."

Of course, the Batman Begins universe is very different from the universe of Arrow and Ra's died in the Nolan films, so the likelihood isn't very high. But you never know.

Arrow returns on October 8th on The CW.
