24 Movie Back Under Discussion

Could Jack Bauer finally make it to the big screen?
If you're a fan of 24, you likely know about the show's long-running attempt to hit the big screen. There were plans for a film as far back as the hiatus between the sixth and seventh seasons and after the show was cancelled in 2010, there were attempts to get the film off the ground that never came to fruition. Of course, that all became moot when Fox brought back the series in 24: Live Another Day this summer, which was a creative success and brought in some pretty decent ratings considering the summer months.
And now, it may finally make it to feature film status after all. TV Line reports that Imagine Entertainment is considering a new film, as chairman Bryan Grazer is particularly pleased about how the miniseries went over. The pitch has yet to be brought to 20th Century Fox, who owns distribution rights and may not be particularly high on the idea since they are likely to order another miniseries possibly as soon as for next summer. A rep for Fox declined to comment.
Keifer Sutherland said last winter that the idea of a film was still a possibility, noting, "The film's an ongoing situation. There's always an opportunity to do that."
