This season is set in 1952 and also stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Michael Chiklis, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Denis O'Hare, John Carroll Lynch, Patti LaBelle and Francis Conroy. It debuts on October 8 at 10 PM on FX. Here are highlights:

On being a fan of the show: "American Horror Story, in general, scares me to death. I was a fan the first two seasons before I came on."

On how Freak Show compares to the past three seasons: "I have to say, Freak Show is really scarier...I read the script and I was having nightmares."

On Jessica Lange not returning for season five: "I think all of us have our fingers crossed that Jessica will come back next season. At least I do because I love working with her. I hope it's not her last season."
