Another DC-based TV show in the works...
DC is prepping another superhero TV show, seeking to expand their continued success in the market just ahead of the debuts of The Flash, Gotham and Constantine. Bleeding Cool and E! Online both report that the company is developing a TV series based on Supergirl. Michael Green (HeroesSmallville) is set to write and produce on the series.
According to E!, while the show was pitched to The CW first, it won't be airing on the network. Supergirl has long been a staple character of DC's. She is Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman and has been part of some of DC's biggest events. She was revamped during the New 52 and is in her own series, which Green co-wrote for the first twelve issues.
It's worth noting that while Kara appeared in the prequel comic for Man of Steel, which is canon to the DC Cinematic Universe, this will likely be separate from the film universe.
