Marvel is pushing for WWE wrestler Triple H to star in Thor while director Matthew Vaughn is against the idea. Vaughn is pushing for Kevin McKidd from HBO's Rome to star as Thor.
Triple H has a connection to Marvel as he had a role in Blade: Trinity. He was also rumored to star in the now-defunct King Conan: Crown of Iron.
