[TV] The 2008 Emmy Award Nominations Are In!

30 Rock, Mad Men lead the pack...
The nominees for the 2008 Emmy Awards have been announced.
Leading the pack was HBO's mini-series John Adams which scored 23 nominations. 30 Rock followed with 17 nominations and Mad Men landed 16 nominations.
The most noteworthy thing is that HBO's The Wire was once again snubbed. Despite almost universal praise as one of the greatest dramas ever, the show never got a major Emmy nomination in its entire five year run.

I'm shocked to see an SNL castmember get an acting nod. But Amy deserves it, she has been the driving force of the show for the last couple of seasons.

Dexter needs a couple nods in the Drama department, Mad Men is good too, but not nearly as unique or compelling as Dexter
the other ones are mostly take it or leave it

Jeremy Piven might as well put that Best Supporting Actor award on lockdown for the rest of Entourage's run.

Hugh Laurie for best actor once again.. if he doesn't win there is no justice..

I think I'm actually glad that The Wire didn't receive a single major nomination. The Emmy Awards are beneath them. The Emmy Awards are for shows that merely strive to entertain people.
The Wire was much, much more than that. It doesn't deserve to be on a pageant alongside the likes of shit like Boston Legal.

Too much greys anatomy and not enough BSG. Michael Emerson is a lock.

Pushing Daisies has to win something. Easily the best show out there nowadays.
