[Movies] Arnold's Role Recast In Terminator Salvation Posted by Ashish on 07.18.2008
Who is playing the T-800 in the new Terminator?
Austrian bodybuilder-actor Roland Kickinger plays the T-800 in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. Arnold Schwarzenegger played the T-800 in the previous Terminator films.
"There's a very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy," Kickinger told the paper. "It's Arnold's character in the first Terminator. That's basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about."
Dammit they should have stopped with 2.

This is absolutely hilarious casting! Roland played a very Arnold-like character on the FX show Son Of The Beach. Also, he was on the made for TV movie a couple of years ago about the life of Arnold. HE PLAYED THE YOUNG ARNOLD!

Roland Kickinger is a pretty good fit for his role. Arnold looks like hell nowadays anyways and I guess has some other job. This guy has the same look and build as a younger Arnold so good casting job there.

I might be mistaken, but I thought Arnold was a T-101 model.

In the first Terminator you see a flash forward where a bunch of Terminators in human skin show up and none of them are Arnold so it's not hard to believe they have different skin types.

OMFG! Arnold is basically an OLD man now, AND governor of california. He took alot of slack doing a CAMEO in The Rundown when he first took office so I cant blame him for not being in this one.
Roland Kickinger is about as close to Arnold as possible in appearance so dry off and either SEE the movie or DONT.
