Paramount wants a new star...
Paramount is going forward with plans to make a sequel to Top Gun, but Tom Cruise won't be in it. A spokesperson for Paramount recently said there would be "no way" Cruise would star in the film.
No Cruise in Top Gun? Thats like no Peanut Butter in a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich

I know the guy is nuts, but this is just wrong. No matter how crazy he has become, he is still a great actor, but more importantly, he IS Top Gun.

I know Tom is bat shit crazy, but not even a cameo? I dunno..The whole thing sounds like a bad idea to me and without Cruise it sounds even worse.

i can understand a new star but without Cruise in the back drop as say a Veteran or retired honored legend ...to somehow tie both flicks or help this new fly boy it will be stupid.
As someone stated it will go straight to DVD and thus tarnish the the original !
