[Movies] Director Not Happy With Babylon A.D.
Posted by Ashish on 08.27.2008

Babylon A.D. director Mathieu Kassovitz isn't happy with the film and is letting it be known. In an interview with AMCtv.com, Kassovitz takes shots at the entire process.

"I'm very unhappy with the film. I never had the chance to do one scene the way it was written or the way I wanted it to be. The script wasn't respected. Bad producers, bad partners, it was a terrible experience."

Kassovitz goes on to complain that Fox cut 15 minutes of the film in post-production, leaving it to be very confusing.

"The movie is supposed to teach us that the education of our children will mean the future of our planet," he explains. "All the action scenes had a goal: They were supposed to be driven by either a metaphysical point of view or experience for the characters... instead parts of the movie are like a bad episode of 24."

The movie opens Friday and stars Vin Diesel as a mercenary transporting a woman from Eastern Europe to America.

Kassovitz sure knows how to promote a movie.

Really? He thought a Vin Diesel action movie wouldn't be like a bad episode of 24? Has this guy ever been to an actual theater to see a Vin Diesel movie?

Way to promote your new flick!

Wonder if "Gothika" sucking was the studios fault as well?

If he hates it, does that mean we'll all love it?

maybe they'll do a remake that works later on

This really annoys me. Granted, Vin Diesel isn't exactly a highly distinguished A-lister. But I'm a fan of sorts and was looking forward to seeing this movie. Way to go, asshole... you just killed any enthusiasm I had for this movie.
